The Noisy Reading Series asks the writer to record his/herself reading his or her piece in the place where he or she feels the piece’s sound is best complemented (or disturbed). It is for the writer to decide where that place is, but the sound of the piece being read there should electrify the piece and transform the writer’s perception of it. After the writer has made the recording, the writer and I have a recorded phone conversation about the piece, the recording, and the recording process, and the recording and phone conversation are aired on The Eggshell Parade and featured on The Eggshell Parade Web site.

Pieces read for TNRS are generally pieces that have been published. To query about reading your piece for TNRS, e-mail
